Abstract

While media literacy has always attempted to include analysis of authorship, the introduction ofparticipatory culturerequires media consumers, producers, scholars, and educators to understand media production in new ways. Digital media, like video games, provide a particularly useful site to explore these new relationships between media literacy, authorship, and participatory culture.
