Abstract
Flash flooding is one of the dangerous catastrophes among the type of flood events. a. Flash flooding may occur in an area that may not even be located in floodplain zone. Because most flash flooding can take minutes or hours to develop with little warning and has high damaging potential, in this study, it was focused on identifying areas prone to flash flooding in the city of Philadelphia, which has many rivers and high development rates. For this reason, a Geographic Information System (GIS) analytical model was developed to find the most flash flood prone areas in Philadelphia, and analysis the relationship of our analysis results with the combined sewer area and the locations of green stormwater infrastructure projects.
