This chapter is the third of four on the topic of geohazard assessment and management, focusing on assessment principles and techniques. The evolution of a geohazard assessment methodology and its relation to pipeline risk assessment is described, along with a process to estimate individual and combined geohazard susceptibility and select mitigation options.
