Abstract

This chapter explains additional software items used in a graphics system to create the following: detail drawings with multiviews, sectional views, dimensioning and notation, and threads and fasteners. If engineering students&s; workstation contains a graphics tablet, student may stop and place tablet menu on the surface of that tablet. Autodesk provides an additional method of menu selection when student purchase the software. REGEN can be used in place of REDRAW and forces the software to regenerate the entire drawing file. Auto computer-aided design (CAD) is the largest single and most expensive software package available from Autodesk. Begin students drawing session in front of the workstation and follow the installation instructions for AutoCAD. So if all else fails when preparing drawings, always remember that AutoCAD will return student to the main menu. The root menu contains a SETUP item for defining the scale and boundaries of students drawing.
