Abstract

It is well Known that living organisms can be divided into five kingdoms according to their features of cell structure and metabolism. The animal kingdom is the most species rich, with 1 110 000 species, the plant kingdom comes the second, with 290 000 species, the fungi with about 100 000, the protists with about 40 000 and the monera with 4000~5000.Those are only the descirbed numbers. It is certain that not all speciess have been recorded, especially small living things such as yeasts, filamentouss fungi, protista and monera.since their unconspicuousness and small size. 1The living habitat and distributions of microorganisms in the -world.Microorganisms, differing from plants and animals, do not show apparent and distinct geographical distributions. They can be found in all kinds of environments, even in the environments where plants and animals do not exist. Some microorganisms can survive under exteme environments, for example, a lot of microorganisms were found in sea and saline lakes (with more than 3. 5% of salts or saturated with salts).Microorganisms can also tolerate alkalinity in nature or artificial environments. They grow and reproduce normally in
