Abstract
This report represents a study of three months of monitoring for radioactive contamination in the environs of the Hanford Works. Radioactive contamination originating as a result of the operation of the Hanford Works and from naturally occurring radioactive isotopes were monitored in the solid, liquid, and gaseous states. Although these data were originally reported on a month to month basis in the H. I. Environs Reports, trends not noted in a one month period become noticeable by combining data of a longer period and assist in appraisal of any potential environmental hazards. Small changes in expressing units of activity appear in this series of reports for the first time. Units for expressing activity as recently agreed at the Chalk River Conference will be used in this and all future reports; i.e., uc/cc for beta-gamma activity. The term uc/cc for alpha emitters will not be used in this report as the unit dis/min/liter has been standard at Hanford for the past five years and any changes from this latter unit would only make it that much more confusing when comparing data of one report with another.
