Abstract

Bainite transformation in a 6-5-4-2 high speed steel has been investiga-ted by means of TEM.The results show that superledges exist on the broadfaces of bainite ferrite.The radius of curvature at top of bainite subunitdecreases with the decrease of transformation temperature.The dislocationdensity in the bainite studied is lower than that in the neighboring marten-site.All these characteristics indicate that the mechanism of bainite growthis diffusional.
