Processing industry: analysis of the status and main trends in development

Article investigates the trends of development in processing industry of Ukraine based on an analysis of key indicators to financial and economic activity of its branches from 2010 to 2015. Methods that were used in the study. Systematic approach and methodology of economic, statistical and mathematical analysis to study trends and dynamics of macroeconomic indicators in processing industry of Ukraine. Result of the work. The main goal of the world economy is the development of its industries. It plays an important role in stabilizing the financial crisis and becomes a major factor of economic growth. Analysis of the status and development of the industry, and its considerable part - processing industry, allows to determine prospects, strategies and solutions that will enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of industry, which are relevant to current challenges. Conclusions. Processing industry takes 60% of the GDP within the industries of Ukraine. Analysis of the dynamics and structure of branches in the processing industry demonstrates a steady downward trend. This is reflected not only on the efficiency of financial indicators of the branches but also on macro indicators of the country, especially in export-import activities. Some improvement in key performance indicators of processing industry in 2016 is not the key to ensure its effective functioning and sustainable development in the new environment of global market competition. Relevant conclusions and strategic decisions on the basis of research will adjust directions and impacts on the efficiency of financial and economic activity of processing industry of the country.
