Abstract
Procedures developed for the radiochemical sequential separation of Be/ sup 7, Mn/sup 54/, Fe/sup 55/, Sr/sup 89/, Sr/sup 90/, Y/sup 88/, Y/saup 91/, Zr/ sup 95/, Rh/sup 102/, Cd/sup 109/, Sb/sup 124/, Sb/sup 125/, Cs/sup 137/, Ba/sup 140/, Ce/sp 141/, Ce/ sup 144/, Pm/sup 147/, Tl/sup 204/, and Pu are presented. Purification and radiometric procedures for Fe/sup 55/, Y/sup 88/, Y/sup 91/, Cd/ sup 109/, Sb/sup 124/, Sb/sup 125/, Pm/ sup 147/, Tl /sup 204/, and Pu are also included along with procedures for dissolution of polystyrene and aqua-dag samples. Research is also reported on identification of the 1.8-Mev photon- emitting radionuclide observed on the gamma spectrum of a sample collected at 79,000 ft at 31 deg N latitude. Results of radiochemical quality control work are included. (J.R.D.)
