Abstract
Mosquitoes are common insects that affect both humans and animals. Mosquito bites can be confirmed by capturing one of the most common mosquitoes in each area and season. There are several strategies that can be used to prevent mosquito bites. Mosquito bite avoidance is essential in areas such as tall grass, bush, wetlands, and swamps, particularly when mosquitoes are most active. Each species displays daily active rhythms in their living areas. Insect repellent is another strategy for preventing mosquito bites. The two principal categories of commercially available insect repellents include plant-derived essential oils and synthetic chemicals. The synthetic chemical N, N-diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET) is the most widely used repellent in humans; however, DEET may be toxic to cats; permethrin-based products can also be toxic unless specifically formulated for use on cats. Glucocorticoids are the most reliable agents for controlling skin lesions.
