Abstract

Add-on therapy with tiagabine can be effective in selected cases of focal seizures. Tiagabine in combination with lacosamide seems to be effective in patients with seizures resistant to other antiepileptic drugs. The cases presented proves this. The limiting effects of lacosamide and tiagabine may be side effects of both substances. But they occur temporarily and are most intensified at the beginning of treatment. Slowly increasing the doses of each drug seizures helps patients to tolerate the therapy.
