Abstract
Welcome to CHINZ 2008, Wellington, and Victoria University of Wellington! Now in its ninth year, CHINZ is the leading New Zealand research conference for the field of Human-Computer Interaction, and it is with a great deal of pleasure that Victoria University of Wellington continues the strong tradition laid down by other New Zealand universities in hosting this worthy event. The 2008 program once again reflects the diverse range of work being conducted by New Zealand researchers and their international colleagues.
We are pleased to have Dr Tim Wright present a keynote speech on bridging the divide between the academic research community and industry practitioners. Dr Wright has previously published HCI research in international publications, and now also has first hand experience of the application of user interface design concepts in industry.
