Abstract
Database is a kind of data management technology, which plays an important role for data storage, management and scheduling for systems. This paper starts from the database technology, and introduces four popular database system structures: single user database structure, master-slave database structure, distributed structure and client/server structure. Then this paper presents the design points of client/server database, including network software and protocol, database and client development tool. Lastly, map database is taken as example to show the client/server structure design. Client/server database improves the capacity, efficiency, stability and safety of the system, which has been widely applied into various systems with different scales.
