Abstract

Objective of the presence study was evaluating awareness about etiology of psittacosis. This disease is caused by bacterium Chlamydia psittaci which is present in the cell. It is also known as parrot fever. In 1892, Morange used it first time. Parrots, parakeets are infected by this bacterium. It is also caused by non psittacine birds and known as ornithosis. A questionnaire was prepared that contains the questions like psittacosis is a bacterial, viral and fungal disease, Ever you suffered from psittacosis, it is transmitted by blood transfusion, psittacosis may be treated by medicine or surgery.
