Proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Software Engineering Research and Industrial Practice

We are very pleased to welcome you to the 2nd International Workshop on Software Engineering Research and Industrial Practice, held this year in Florence, Italy. The aim of our workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss the current state of Software Engineering (SE) research and Industrial Practice (IP), and advance collaboration to reduce the gap between research and practice. Thanks to the strong contributions of the paper authors, we have been able to put together an exciting day with excellent prospects for achieving that goal. Our format for the workshop includes a mix of short and long papers, in order to facilitate inclusion of presenters from both industry and academia, as well as a mix of mature collaborations and new ideas. Keeping with the goal of a more interactive workshop, ample time has been included for questions and answers on the presentations, as well as general discussion across all of the day's technical content. An important emphasis of the workshop is on round table discussions, that is, brainstorming-oriented discussions among subgroups of workshops attendees. Aggregated discussion results will be edited in the form of a paper and, if possible, will be submitted for publication to an appropriate venue.
