Abstract

Operation of the speed variable electrical drive than includes the active rectifier with voltage oriented control system during of voltage failures is discussed in the paper. It is established that during an asymmetric voltage failure, the VOC controlled active rectifier is a high harmonics source. To form sinusoidal currents novel control strategy is proposed. References of input currents values are being calculated from parameters of the generalized voltage vector's locus and the instantaneous power of the engine. The proposed control strategy is implemented into a computer model developed in the Simulink MATLAB environment. Simulation results show improvement of the rectifier's input currents under voltage dip compared with of common VOC.
