Abstract

Les Bell is Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Warwick. He is a primary trained teacher and taught in both primary and secondary schools before joining the staff of Coventry College of Education. He is responsible for education management courses for the MEdy MA (primary education) and BPhil degrees, as well as for a range of shorter in-service courses. He is also attached to the University Centre for Education and Industry where he is Course Director of the Headteachers into Industry Project. He has written extensively on school organisation and educational management: his book Management skills in the primary school is in this Rout ledge series .
