Abstract
Confucius was the latinized name for Kong Qiu where Kong was the family name and Qiu was the given. Confucius was born into an impoverished aristocratic family. There was no reliable evidence to point to the work written by Confucius himself. However, it is generally agreed among historians that Confucius&s; philosophic and educational ideas are recorded in, among others, the following so called &s;Four Books&s; – the Analects of Confucius, the Book of Mencius, the Great Learning, and the Doctrine of the Mean. The psychological foundation of Confucius&s; educational thought is that human nature is neutral at birth. Confucius was heavily involved in teaching; and there are several texts about his ideas and practice related to teaching method and instructional content. Confucius emphasized the importance of humanity in daily life in the way one treats parents and others.
