Building on semiotic and anthropological methods, Annibaldi interprets musical works as symbols of a patron’s social status and reputation. Applies this approach to Monteverdi’s Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda and to Girolamo Fresco-baldi’s toccatas for keyboard.
