Abstract

Literacy skills are needed by students in order to comprehend various subjects. Mastering literacy maximally require literacy learning. Characteristics of literacy learning include three R, namely: Responding, Revising, and Reflecting. Measuring the success of literacy learning requires an authentic assessment. Components of the authentic assessment are: a) the tasks that the student must do, b) assessment sheets, and c) assessment rubric. The task consists of: a) performing an act, b) producing a work, and c) both performing an act and producing a work at a time. The rubric consists of aspects to be assessed equipped with indicators of quality level for each aspect ranging from the most perfect level to the worst level accompanied by scores for each level of quality.
