DEVELOPMENT OF THE TRANSPORT SYSTEM IN KHARKIV REGION AND ITS INFRASTRUCTURE

In the article the current state and development of the transport system in the Kharkiv region have been studied, the relationship with the operation of its infrastructure has been derived and the estimation of the transport capacity in the region has been given. The functional purpose of transport is to ensure the movement of goods and passengers in space and in time. Therefore, it is characterized by territorial specificity to a bigger extent than any other industry. For this purpose, the place and role of the transport system in socio-economic development of the regions have been studied, as well as requirements for the modern transport system have been formulated and its role in the implementation of the system-wide functions has been determined. Based on the existing methods of forecasting transport demand and substantiating the level of development of the transport system the methods of improving the specific transport system in the region are presented. As a strategic aspect the formation of the transport trade logistic cluster has been identified. As a result of the analysis of infrastructure provision it has been proven that optimization of the use of infrastructure and transit possibilities to improve local accessibility and operation of the transport system in the region on the whole should become a strategic priority of the development of the Kharkov region transport system.
