Declarative Versus Procedural Knowledge

Declarative and procedural memory systems underlie two distinct types of knowledge, labeled declarative and procedural knowledge. The distinction between these memory/knowledge systems is useful in understanding how second language (L2) learners process L2 input data and how they convert such information into intake for their evolving interlanguage.
