Abstract
The development of mechanisms for the revival of the regional economy is of increased interest, to maximize the use of all elements of the regional potential of the economy. At the same time, it is of great importance to predict the growth of innovation and investment activity through cluster diversification and transformation of the regional economy. This requires the systematization of information on the mechanism of management of innovative sphere, as a strategic factor for the achievement of identified problems. Forecasting of innovation and investment activity and attractiveness of production and non-production sectors of the region should be based solely on the results of scientifically based diagnosis, analysis, evaluation of its competitive profile in all sectors of the regional economy. Thus, there is an urgent need to identify the priority areas of locomotive and forecast the development of the economy of problem regions in the medium and long term.
