HIV（human immunodeficiency virus）感染症の予後は抗HIV療法によって劇的に改善したが，我が国では今も診断の遅れが深刻な状況である．早期診断のためには，不明熱の経過，性交渉歴，身体所見等をヒントに，HIV感染を疑って検査を行うことが必要とされる．
