An Analysis Of Intrinsic Elements And Moral Values In “The Rainbow Troops” Novel By. Andrea Hirata

The objectives of this study are to describe the intrinsic elements of The Rainbow Troops novel and to analyze the moral values implied in Andrea Hirata’s novel. Since we are facing new challenges in this era and region of the world, we are more affected by cultural and environmental effects that change our moral system. Therefore, it is necessary to have the awareness of the public about the importance of moral values in human life. The Rainbow Troops is a modern novel that tells about the spirit of a very loyal and devoted teacher, named Bu Mus, who teaches the students who are from different economical background. This study is descriptive qualitative research. The writer used the documentation method in collecting the data. The writer also looked for other information which are related in this study. The study ends with a description of the moral value in The Rainbow Troops novel such as believe in God, forgiveness, not to give up, love and affection, thankfulness, grateful, sympathy to others, bravery, be patient, giving a chance, honesty, trustworthy and don’t be arrogant.
