Bio-efficacy of insecticidal mixtures against sucking pests of Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.)

Abstract

Field trial was conducted to study the bio-efficacy of ten different insecticides (Flonicamid 50 WDG @ 75 g a.i./ha; Flupyradifurone 200 SL @ 200 g a.i./ha; Spiromesifen 240 SC @ 96 g a.i./ha; Thiacloprid 240 SC @ 72 g a.i./ha; Betacyfluthrin 90 + Imidacloprid 210 OD @ 18 + 42 g a.i./ha; Spirotetramat 120 + Imidacloprid 120 SC @ 60 + 60 g a.i./ha; Acetameprid 20 SP @ 25 g a.i./ha; Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 50 g a.i./ha; Fenpropathrin 30 EC @ 100 g a.i./ha and Diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 300 g a.i./ha with untreated control. Among different insecticides evaluated, Flupyradifurone and Flonicamid emerged as most effective treatments. Whereas, Acetameprid for whitefly and Fenpropathrin for jassid and aphid proved to be least effective. The treatment with Flupyradifurone 200 SL @ 200 g a.i./ha recorded highest i.e. (330.04 q/ha) yield of brinjal fruits with ICBR (1: 8.87) as against (220.00 q/ha) in untreated control. Whereas, the treatment with Flonicamid 50 WDG @ 75 g a.i./ha was found equally effective with this treatment and recorded (325.08 q/ha) yield of birnjal fruits with 1: 14.20 ICBR.
