The Application of Indwelling double-J Ureteral stents for Secondary Ureteral Obsturction in Advanced Malignant Cancer

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of indwelling double-J ureteral stents for second ureteral obstruction in advanced cancer.Methods: 17 cases of hospitalized patients with advanced cancer indwelling double-J ureteral stents for second ureteral obstruction were retrospectively analyed. There are 5 cases with bilateral ureteral obstruction and 12 cases with unilateral obstruction. According to the indications before and after cannulation, biochemical indicators and clinical manifestations were compared.Results:12 patients had bilateral ureteral obstruction and 14 sides of the catheterization succeed initially(58.3%). 5 patients had unilateral ureteral obstruction and 3cases of the catheterization succeed initially. After the catheterization, the biochemical indications and clinical manifestations were improved.Conclusion:Indwelling double-J ureteral stents is simple and less painful, can be emerges as the first choice with secondary ureteral obstruction in advanced cancer.
