Abstract

The practice of teaching writing and reading is much debated, especially given the national results, but also far from the reality of teaching native speakers, the study presents a discussion of this practice, involving the text as a basis in the acquisition of communicative competence with emphasis on textual competency, an overview of the ways of using the text in the classroom, the time to recovery of the context as the many existing varieties, being essential in the communication process inside or outside the classroom, involvement in the language in use, changeable and variable activity. Concludes that for an effective result it is necessary engagement with language use and respecting the many existing varieties, with the center - the text
