Abstract
Phytophthora tropicalis attacks hosts in 23 plant families and is often recovered from plant nurseries and economically important trees. Described formally in 2001, P. tropicalis has long been considered an evolutionarily distinct species. This chapter provides an overview of the biology and common hosts for P. tropicalis, distribution and recommendations for managing P. tropicalis.
