Degloving injuries of the lower extremities are the most commonly affected lesions in trauma.Primary closure after minimal debridement is a common treatment method. However, the mismanagement of degloving injury involving severe subcutaneous soft tissue disruption and contamination results in necrosis, infection, loss of the limb, or even worse, mortality. The concept of resurfacing the denuded bed of such degloving lesions with skin grafts taken from an avulsed flap has been widely accepted. The relevant techniques for dealing with such patients are diverse. Here, we report the experience of two cases of degloving injury of the lower extremities that were managed with immediate defatting, multiple incisions, and full-thickness skin grafting from the avulsed flap.(Trauma Image Proced 2018(1):30-32)
