FACILITATION OF CHORUS ROLE IN A. N. ARBUZOV’S PARABLE “THE HAPPY DAYS OF AN UNHAPPY MAN”

The article is devoted to the analysis of the facilitated image of the chorus and its functions in the parable “The Happy Days of an Unhappy Man”, which was written by the Soviet playwright A. N. Arbuzov in 1967. It is proved that in the play the playwright simplifies the role of the chorus, facilitates its presence on the stage. The staff of the chorus displaces the trio-chorus, in fact “three voices” from the chorus that the playwright needs in the axiological, evaluative role. Participants in the chorus combine the dramatic, epic and lyric functions in their role, but the role of the argument between the choreuts is in the forefront. Conflicting, disagreeing with each other, the participants of the trio-chorus disclose the difference in possible evaluations of the character from outside - on behalf of other characters, the author, the audience and in general - the society.
