Abstract

Almost every year since 1952 I have been staying for longer or \nshorter periods in the European parts of the Mediterranean countries \nboth on the mainland and the islands. By means of a grant from the \nSwedish Natural Science Research Council I visited Yugoslavia almost \ntwo months travelling along the coast from Zadar to the peninsula of \nIstria in order to collect insects for the Swedish Museum of Natural \nHistory.
