Abstract
New millennium, the 21st century, our world is shifted from the Stone Age to the ironic age. In every profession, man has reduced his burdens and transferred it to the world of machines. So is the case with manufacturing processes. Manufacturing today is the development and use of the Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) systems. Computer Integrated Manufacturing is the name of computer-automated system which is an automatic, advanced and sophisticated way of a Manufacturing process in which engineering, production, marketing, and supporting functions of a manufacturing enterprise are organized. CIM corresponds to the functioning of design, analysis, planning, purchasing, cost accounting, inventory control, and distribution that are linked through the computer with factory floor functions such as materials handling and management, providing direct control and monitoring of all the operations. The backbone of CIM is CAD (Computer aided drawing) and CAM (Computer aided manufacturing). They are used for reducing the production time in the phenomenon. CAD/CAM is highly efficient and advanced technology used as a tool between design and manufacturing.
