Abstract
Preventive healthcare (alternately preventive medicine, preventative healthcare/medicine, or prophylaxis) consists of measures taken for disease prevention, as opposed to disease treatment. Just as health comprises a variety of physical and mental states, so do disease and disability, which are affected by environmental factors, genetic predisposition, disease agents, and lifestyle choices. Health, disease, and disability are dynamic processes which begin before individuals realize they are affected. Disease prevention relies on anticipatory actions that can be categorized as primal, primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. In the present book, fifteen typical literatures about Advances in Preventive Medicine published on international authoritative journals were selected to introduce the worldwide newest progress, which contains reviews or original researches on preventive medicine, personalised medicine, Paradigm change to preventive medicine, etc. We hope this book can demonstrate advances in Preventive Medicine as well as give references to the researchers, students and other related people.
