Abstract
A laser is a device that emits light (or more generally electromagnetic (EM) radiation) through a process called stimulated emission. e term “laser” is an acronym for light amplication by stimulated emission of radiation [1]. e rst working laser was demonstrated on May 16, 1960, by eodore Maiman at Hughes Research Laboratories. It was a pulsed ruby laser. e main characteristics of laser beam are monochromaticity, coherence, divergence, and brightness.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
