Abstract

This paper presents a noval 7 level T-type converter topology with improved output voltage and lower harmonic content with the conventional method. The performance of the device can be improved by increasing number of levels in the inverter. The proposed topology presents 7 levels in output voltage with low harmonic distortion and increased efficiency than the 5 level T-type inverter. The introduction of LC filter reduces higher order harmonics thereby improves total harmonic distortion (THD). The simulation is obtained using MATLAB simulink software and validated by hardware implementation.
