Abstract
Small cells are expected to contribute to the targets of next generation wireless networks. For increasing the signal strength in indoor areas, small cell based networks are developed. The power consumption in macro, micro, pico and femtocell based cellular network is described in this paper. The simulation results demonstrate that the femtocell has least power consumption as compare to macrocell, microcell and picocell based network. Thus, the femtocell has good signal strength in indoor areas like home, office etc.
