Abstract
Enhancing the communication link performance for mobile satellite communication is very important because the link margin for user terminal antenna is very small. Due to that, small antenna with high gain characteristic is favorable as the user terminal antenna. This paper presents an analysis of super directive array antenna utilizing an inverted-F antenna array mounted on a small base plate. The antenna is to be placed on top of user terminal device or smartphone, operating at frequency 2 GHz. The proposed design has high gain characteristic with low height and due to alternate feeding condition, switchable beam capability is obtained. The directivity results show a similar characteristic for output beam patterns for both ports confirming the good performance of the proposed antenna design.
