Abstract

Port of Split, in accordance with its purpose, is an open port for international public transportation. Due to its size and importance port of Split has special international economic role for Republic of Croatia. With annual turn over upper than 3, 5 mil passengers and 650000 vehicles, port of Split is leading Croatian port on Mediterranean sea, after Napulj and Pirej. Activities of Port of Authority Split are menaging, building and using of port, while Operative Centre manage and control sea traffic on territory of Port of Split. Fact that Operative Centre during summer months has over 200 ship calls per day, points out importance and responsibility of sea traffic un Port of Split
