The study deals with the personality of the main character in the play. The objectives were to find out the types of personality based on Freud’s theory. The dominant type and the affection the dominant type of personality of the main character with the conflict. This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative design. The data were taken from Sorry, Wrong Number play by main character, 132 selected dialogues which were collected by applying documentary technique. There were three types of personality that found in the play, namely: ID (69,7 %), Ego (27,3 %), and Superego (3%). The dominant type of personality was ID. The dominant type of personality of main character affected the conflict. It happened because the personality cannot able to balance these three parts of the human psyche. The main character used her ID too severely. From those findings, it is concluded that personality of character is important to build the conflict in the story.
