Abstract
This chapter reviews the progress achieved so far on the exploitation of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs; Steinernema and Heterorhabditis species) for the control of stored-product insects, including those belonging to orders Coleoptera and Lepidoptera. Recent findings on the control of stored grain pests by EPNs are summarized and the factors (such as temperature and relative humidity) affecting the virulence of EPNs against storage insects are elucidated. Finally, the limitations of EPNs, as well as their future prospects and possible role in control strategies against stored-product insects, are discussed.
