Abstract
Abstract Among physiologists, “fatigue” has been defined in different ways. One definition is the “failure to maintain the required or expected force.” This chapter examines muscle fatigue. After the introduction, the next section examines sites of neuromuscular fatigue. Equations that quantify fatigue are given. A later section discusses myoelectric manifestations of muscle fatigue. Finally, the chapter concludes with estimates of EMG variables and fatigue indexes.
