Abstract

This paper presents a practical method that allows a workstation to concurrently communicate with multiple connected devices located in the same broadcast domain that share the same IPv4 address. \nThis technique is useful for post factory rework processes that require altering network devices’ firmware or configuration for multiple devices at the same time. It is applicable to any type of network device which uses a standard TCP/IP protocol for its management. \nThis includes basically all types of network devices available on the market including consumer and enterprise routers, switches, storages and other types of devices equipped with an Ethernet interface. \nWhile similar techniques may exist, those are vendor and device specific and can not be used as a general method for performing such tasks. \nProposed solution can be used with any type of network device for simplifying and speeding up the process of mass device rework within post factory processes.
