Abstract
In this essay, I use a recent featured review in the Washington Post of a new book on the importance of feminist theory for young women to comment on our culture's widespread bias against feminist theory and perspectives. I argue that there is widespread resistance in our popular media to the most basic insights of feminism, and that even the rare “sympathetic” discussions of feminism in popular media illustrate this clearly. I illustrate this point with an analysis of both the book, just published by a popular press, and its review.
