Abstract

In railway rolling stock, the axle is an important part. The damage of the axle is directly related to the occurrence of major accidents, especially in the high speed rolling stock. With the increase of wheel speed, the lateral and vertical vibration loads increased. Therefore, all these have put forward higher demand to the strength of axle. In this paper, the modal analysis of the overall model of wheel-axle and axle box is carried out. Through the analysis of the results, several points on the box are selected to approximate the vibration of the axle. Then the test is carried out by the bench test, and the vibration of a point is selected to replace the axle through the comparison of these points, and then the measured load can be evaluated for fatigue damage.
