Abstract

Ungpo region in Iksan, Jeonbuk of South Korea is the uppermost limit of wether for cultivating tea. This study focuses on analyzing biologically active constituents and antioxidant effects of green and black tea from Ungpo to brighten hidden zone of related tea studies. Firstly, we starts from examining total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of Green Tea extracts(GTE) and Black tea extracts(BTE) from Ungpo and evaluating the possible antioxidant activities from its extracts. Therefore, we could measur the effects of GTE and BTE on vitalizing activities against DPPH radical and ABTS radical. These results indicate that GTE and BTE protects oxidative activities through activating free radials.
