Abstract
The concepts of constitution and constitutionalism constitute a central discourse in political science. A Constitution is one of the most important documents in the political culture and history of a nation and over the years has continued to receive the attention of comparative constitutionalists. The question of what a constitution is; what are its functions; how is a constitution classified; what is constitutionalism and its central purpose; what is the difference between constitution and constitutionalism are the focal points, themes and subject matter of this paper.
