Abstract

Hartmann flows are simulated by a SPH method in which Lorentz force is taken into account. A Hartmann flow is observed when an uniform transverse magnetic field is imposed on a liquid metal MHD flow. The numerical results show a qualitative good agreement with the theoretical solutions.
