Abstract

The technics of laser rapid prototyping for metal part was studied by Nd:YAG 1.1kW laser and coaxial powder feeder, and the equipments and methods of laser rapid prototyping were described. The influences of the technics parameters, such as the laser power, scan velocity, powder feed rate and the Z axis increment,on the quality and shape were analyzed. Some examples of laser rapid prototyping under the best technics parameters were presented.
