Abstract
Characteristics of suspended sediment load were investigated for Shih-Men Reservoir watershed in Taiwan. Results of the investigation showed that annual suspended sediment load was correlated with the annual peak discharge. It was also found that Typhoon Gloria of 1963 caused suspended sediment concentration to reach a record high in 1964. This high concentration, although decreasing yearly afterward, continued for many years before returning to the pre-Gloria level.
